Discover the Joy of Music at Joyful Noise Coastal Music Academy

our story...

Welcome to Joyful Noise Coastal Music Academy! In 2024, owner Lauren Polvado felt led by the Lord to step away from her role as a public school music educator and pursue private music instruction full time- a calling she had followed since high school. After serving for several years in different schools, Lauren was privileged to encounter students who had a similar passion for music as she did. She decided to make the switch to teaching  privately to help those kids explore their love for music even deeper.

What started as a little dream in late 2024, Joyful Noise began as a small, in-home studio, rooted in a passion for music education and a desire to serve students well. Over the past year, the academy has tripled in size, allowing us to expand our offerings and provide more musical opportunities for children and teens along the coast.

We are dedicated to creating a fun, encouraging environment where students can grow in confidence and musical skill. Our current programs focus on beginner and intermediate piano lessons, voice lessons, and music foundations classes.

As Joyful Noise continues to grow, we are actively working toward building a larger studio space, which will allow us to hire additional instructors and serve even more students. Looking ahead, we are excited to expand our programs to include adult lessons, instruction in additional instruments, and a children’s choir.

At Joyful Noise Coastal Music Academy, our mission is to nurture a love for music while helping each student develop their God-given gifts with joy and purpose.

Meet the Owner/Instructor

Joyful Noise Coastal Music Academy is owned by Lauren Polvado, a 2022 graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Graduating magna cum laude, Lauren earned her Bachelor’s degree in K–12 Music Education with a concentration in Vocal Pedagogy.

Throughout high school and college, Lauren taught beginner piano lessons to children in the area and served as a Music Theory tutor. Since graduating, she has spent three years teaching Elementary Music Education in both private and public school settings, leading thousands of students through engaging and enriching musical experiences.

In the past year, Lauren combined her passion for teaching and love of music to create Joyful Noise Coastal Music Academy.

Lauren’s musical career includes performances across the United States, as well as an opportunity to sing with her college choir at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. During her collegiate years, she served as Choir President, section leader, and President of her university’s chapter of the Texas Collegiate Music Educators Association. She was the recipient of the TMEA Student Award for Excellence in Music Education and was honored as a three-time Most Outstanding Vocalist. Lauren studied piano and voice under Ms. Judy Rowland, Mrs. Lainie Horwedel, and Mrs. Penny Hogan.

Outside the studio, Lauren enjoys leading worship at Hope Church in Rockport, reading mystery novels, fishing, watching volleyball, and spending time with her husband, Joel (and their 4 fur-babies, Stella, Baylor, Mattie, and Midnight).
